ANSSI’s Back to Basics collection outlines cybersecurity topics by implementing key best practices. It is primarily aimed at professionals responsible for cybersecurity (such as CISOs, architects, and experts), though it is not exclusively intended for them. In addition to these basic recommendations, each document also refers to more detailed publications, notably guides.

The collection reflects the agency's point of view at the time of publication, and is likely to be regularly updated in line with developments in the threat environment, the technologies used, and feedback.
